Spice Up Your Sunday With Perfect Homemade Snacks

You eagerly wait for Sunday and when it arrives, you actually have no idea how to spend the day. When nothing works, ‘Eat’ (courtesy, Kung Fu Panda). You just need to get some readymade eatables like frozen foods and a lot of zeal to cook yourself a pan of heavenly fast foods. Whether it’s veggie nuggets or a platter of crispy aloo tikki, zest up your Sunday morning with some of the perfect ‘munchy menus’!

Smiley sandwiches
A good meal definitely makes you smile but what if the smiles already pour in right from the time your snacks are thawed? You only grin wider. You just need-

2 bread slices (white or brown)
2 Smile pieces
Cheese Slice
Lettuce (optional)

For almost 3 minutes, deep fry the Smiles until you get the luscious golden yellow colour. Butter each side of the bread slices and insert the cheese slice in between. Put some mayonnaise on top of either slice of the sandwich. You can dress it up with lettuce pieces on the inside. But the real deal is clinched and finally complete when you put the Smiles inside the bread slices.

Crispy Aloo Tikki Wrap
Arguably, aloo tikki is the most sought-after snack especially in the northern parts of the subcontinent. But this time, move away from the regular tikki and give it a cheeky twist to prepare the Aloo Tikki Wrap.

Aloo Tikki
2 onion slices
Yoghurt/mint chutney
Coriander leaves (neatly chopped
2 tomato slices

You can either bake the tikki or fry it as per your convenience. Post that, slice the pieces into halves and place them in the chapatti. Garnish it with coriander leaves, tomatoes and yoghurt/mint chutney. Squeeze a piece of lemon over it. Roll it and *Ding* your food is ready. It’s as easy as eating it.

Is it a burger? Is it a patty? Naw, it’s both. Having a patty within a burger is not just an eatable but an emotion. Another reason to make a memorable Sunday is having the veggie burger patty . To prepare-

Burger patty
Butter (1 tbsp)
Cheese Spread (1 tbsp)
Iceberg Lettuce
Onion rings
Chopped Gherkins
Cheese Slice (1)

Fry the patty till you get the irresistible golden brown shade. While it’s being fried, you can apply the butter on the sliced buns and let it toast for some time. Make a cheesy foundation at the bun’s base. Garnish it with the iceberg lettuce, jalapenos, onion rings, coleslaw and gherkins. Place the patty inside and paint the inner layers of the buns with some mayo. If you want, you can put the remaining cheese spread to the bun’s top to treat thyself with delight.

Chilli garlic potato with sumptuous Schezwan
Some people travel the world to find peace while some find it when they have anything with Schezwan. Well, we think the second one’s the easier way. Chilli garlic potato itself is one of the hot favourite party snacks among millennials and college goers. It’s tasty and quite easy to make.

Chilli Garlic potato
Neatly chopped garlic
Schezwan sauce (2 tbsp)
Refined oil (I tbsp)
Neatly chopped ginger
Chopped spring onion
Tomato ketchup
Neatly chopped ginger
Soya sauce

Fry the chilli garlic potato till it obtains a sparkling golden colour. After heating the refined oil in a wok, it’s time to add the chopped garlic pieces, onion, ginger, soya sauce and tomato sauce. Stir it well after adding the Schezwan sauce. Add the chilli garlic potato on the preparation and sprinkle the chopped onions. Toss it like a boss and your meal is hot, savoury and ready to be feasted.

These were some options worth exploring if you want to snazzy up your Sunday mornings. These easy snacks can also be consumed as snacks for kids or adults but if you’re an ‘enthu cutlet’, then preparing the given items will double up the fun.
