Preserving fresh herbs:
The herbs can get old and wilt pretty quickly. Once they start to wilt they lose their aroma and taste and you have to throw them out. But there is a way of preserving the herbs so that they do not go to waste. Freezing the herbs is a great way to maintain their nutrition, freshness, and scent. When you are freezing the herbs you should put them in oil. Freezing the herbs in oil enhances their taste and they become a great addition to any dish.
Saving ice cream from freezer burn:
Everybody loves ice cream and nobody wants to see their ice cream go to waste. If you want your ice cream it maintains its structure and stays fresh you need to store it at the right temperature. The ice cream loses its texture and smoothness once it melts. The freezer can also make the whole tub go to waste but it can be prevented with a simple trick. All you need to do is to trim the ice tubs as you eat the ice cream. The freezer burn happens because there is air in the container. When there is no air in the container then the ice will have nothing to latch on to and the ice cream will be safe from the freezer burn and you can enjoy it.
Fresh tomatoes:
If you are storing the tomatoes at room temperature and you do not want them to go to waste then you should make sure that they are stored with stem down. It prevents the air and moisture from entering the scar and it stays fresh and their lifespan is enhanced.
Potatoes and apples:
Storing potatoes and apples in the same area is a great decision. The apples release ethylene gas as they get ripe. The ethylene gas increases the ripening speed of the fruits storing them with other fruits is a bad idea. Putting them with potatoes is a great decision because they stop the potatoes from sprouting.
Storing the bread:
The bread should not be stored in a refrigerator because the low temperature is a not idea. The best storage solution for the bread is at room temperature. The low-temperature setting of the refrigerator tends to dry out the bread.
