The Indian Wedding – A Day Of Joy And Celebration Like No Other

There is probably no race in the world that celebrates a wedding in quite the same way as the Indians do. Some might consider the word “ostentatious” to be appropriate, and there is no doubt that an Indian wedding is a considerable spectacle.

However, the wedding is not about displaying how much money we have or how important the family is, but is much more about making the bride and groom’s day one that is not just special, but one that they will never, ever forget. Let’s be honest: getting married is not something that you do every day of the week and in most cases it is only once in a lifetime, so one wants to have memories and photographs that will be treasured forever.

Certainly, a wedding is an expensive business in any culture. All right, some people do just pop down to the register office with a couple of friends in attendance and have a beer or two in the pub afterwards, but it somehow doesn’t have that special feeling of magic that most people want.

An Elaborate Affair

A true Indian wedding is an elaborate affair which is designed to put the happy couple on a pedestal. They are, after all, the most important people at the event and so it is right that they should be the centre of attention. Thus the parents, aunts, uncles, and cousins often all get involved in the planning for the big day – and often months in advance.

In Indian weddings, the family priest (pandit for Hindus) is often responsible for the decisions about the way in which the wedding will take place, but in the UK it is now the norm for the family to hire a wedding planner to take care of the major arrangements for the big day. And why not? When you think about the Wimbledon Tennis Tournament it is not the players who make all the arrangements, it is the Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Association whose job is to see to it that everything runs without a hitch – including the strawberries and cream. (Did you know that in 2017 over 32 tons of strawberries together with 2,200 gallons of cream were consumed? Fact!). They are the experts and they have years of experience behind them.

So it is with a wedding. You are far better advised to hand over the details to a specialist who knows how to deal with these things, rather than trying to figure it all out by yourselves when it is quite possible that you have never done it before. Even if you have, it may only have been on one or two occasions, so it is a matter of common sense to leave the details to a company which specialises in wedding decorations UK, since they take care of Indian weddings all the time. It is what they do.

It Must Be Perfect

A wedding day is a one-off, and so it has to be perfect. There is no room for error, and the bride and groom are the centrepiece of the whole day. From the beginning, when the bride may be decorated with mendhi designs – and so may the groom nowadays - it is a job for an expert rather than an amateur.

It pays dividends to go out of the way in order to ensure that each bride and groom has the most amazing day of their lives, and a professional wedding design company will take great pains to make certain that they do, working together with every client to produce the most stunning wedding stages imaginable.

Of course, the choice of venue will also play a part in the design of the wedding stage. It has to meld into the venue in such a way as to seem a part of the overall plan, so that it both stands out as truly amazing and at the same time fits in with the surroundings. A good specialist wedding design company will make certain that everything fits together as it should in order to make the day go without a hitch.
