Nanotechnology refers to a nanoscale technology which has promising applications in day-to-day life. Nanotechnology fond panoramas to re-discover the biological properties of already known antimicrobial compounds by manipulating their dimension to vary the effect. Nano-biotechnology is a new branch of biology that has instigated due to the compatibility of nanosized inorganic and organic particles with biological functions. Different types of nanomaterials like copper, zinc, titanium, silver gold, iron, nickel and tin have been developed by Platonic Nanotech Pvt. Ltd, but silver nanoparticles (Nano-Ag) have demonstrated to be most effectual as they exhibit persuasive antimicrobial efficacy against bacteria, viruses and micro-organisms. Currently nano silver is present in a large number of products spread across a diversity of applications that include clothing, food containers, wound dressings, ointments, implant coatings, cosmetics, children goods, biomedical devices, electronics and further things.

Nano silver is the most deliberated nano particle for Bio-system because of possessing numerous significant properties for industrial applications (explicitly electrical, optical and catalytic properties) but the prevailing one is its strong bactericidal effect. It has been protracted notorious to have strong inhibitory and bactericidal effects as well as a broad spectrum of antimicrobial activities. Silver nanoparticles have a high surface area, high fraction of surface atoms and have high antimicrobial effect as compared to the bulk silver. Silver nanoparticles are used in biosensors, conductive inks and integrated into composites to enhance thermal and electrical conductivity.

Nano silver colloid is a well dispersed and stabilized silver nano particle solution and is more adhesive on bacteria and fungus, hence are enhanced fungicide. Silver is known as a powerful disinfecting agent. It kills unicellular microorganisms by inactivating enzymes having metabolic functions in the microorganisms. Silver in an ionic state exhibits high antimicrobial activity. However, ionic silver is unstable due to its high reactivity and thus gets easily oxidized or reduced into a metal depending on the surrounding media and it does not continuously exert antimicrobial activity.
