Nano silver colloid is a well dispersed and stabilized silver nano particle solution and is more adhesive on bacteria and fungus, hence are enhanced fungicide. Silver is known as a powerful disinfecting agent. It kills unicellular microorganisms by inactivating enzymes having metabolic functions in the microorganisms. Silver in an ionic state exhibits high antimicrobial activity. However, ionic silver is unstable due to its high reactivity and thus gets easily oxidized or reduced into a metal depending on the surrounding media and it does not continuously exert antimicrobial activity.
