How Does The Ssl Certificate Works On Dedicated Servers?

What is SSL?
SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) technology is used to secure the transmission of data over the Internet. It improves the security of a website by providing two important features encryption and authentication. It encrypts and protects data transmitted using the HTTPS protocol. SSL guarantees visitors to your site that their data will not be intercepted by fraudsters.
SSL security is based on two principles.
1. Data encryption
Encryption means that data sent between your website and users is unreadable by others. When a user accesses your site using an SSL connection (URL starting with https: //) the web server and web browser exchange encrypted information. Compare this with unencrypted web transactions, which are transmitted in clear and subject to listening. All transmitted data is rendered unintelligible except between the visitor establishing the connection and the server hosting the site. Encryption is the basis of data integrity and confidentiality.
2. Authentication
The validated domain certificate (DV) offered by does not guarantee that a site has been identified by a certification authority. Nevertheless, it ensures the authentication of the exchanges made between a user and the web servers, which is necessary to secure the data transfers. Authentication means that visitors can trust that you are really what you claim to be. When users access your site using an SSL connection, they can be sure they see your site, not an impostor. While encryption helps protect data, authentication helps to prove your identity to others.
When users visit an SSL-enabled site, most web browsers display a lock icon (usually in the address bar). To enable SSL for your own website, you must obtain and install a certificate.
Authentication of a certificate generates a pair of digital keys.
The step by step principle:
• The private key
It is installed on the server and creates the certification stamp of your site.
• The public key
The DV certificate is the other side of the SSL certificate, which is also installed on your site. It allows your visitors to encrypt their data, which is essential when sending sensitive personal information (bank details, national insurance number, etc.). The data is encrypted before being sent and only the private key can decrypt them.

Conclusion: Today an image of your brand is closely linked to the security of your website. To ensure the credibility of your website, HTTPS must be enabled. HTTPS is active when a green padlock appears in the browser's address bar (Chrome, Firefox, etc.). This informs visitors that the site's content comes from a secure, non-pirated source. SSL also guarantees the confidentiality of the data sent between the browser and the website. A CA must first verify the SSL certificate of the site in question. In addition, HTTPS is now one of Google's ranking criteria. However, not all SSL certificates are valid. Only SSL EV certificates can guarantee that a website is actually managed by the site publisher and that it exists legally. When you visit a secure website with an EV SSL certificate, the EV SSL certificate displays the name of the company in question near the famous green lock.
