Massage therapy has been in practice since the last 5000 years. The healing method involves touch of pressure points with fingers and palm. Earlier people would hardly understand the healing effects of touch. These customised techniques root back in the ancient times. People from both eastern and western parts of the world found how natural healing could take place with the help of massaging. They realised that this healing therapy could cure pain and injuries. This would induce deep relaxation and inherently reduce stress.

Massage therapy- the route to cure

Massage therapy evolved as a sacred procedure triggering natural healing. Over the years massaging experienced changes and cultural shifts which added to the differentiation in techniques. In modern times, massage therapy has evolved as an effective method for holistic healing which is now in practice throughout the world. The therapeutic benefits of this healing procedure has brought upon various benevolent impacts.

Ayurveda, the root to holistic healing

As the legacy of massage therapy was passed on to different countries, variation in the procedures started to happen. In India, Ayurveda became a chief way of healing. This holistic healing approach saw ancient seers get involved. Also there were scientists who believed in the curing effects of natural therapy. They conducted experiments with herbs and various other earthly elements. Centuries passed, and Ayurveda managed to hold a secure position in the medical field.

There are scripts which were written somewhere in between 1500BC and 500 BC. These texts urged people across India to adopt the therapy as one of the most effective ways of healing. It soon spread throughout Southeast Asia and benefitted people from across the region.

Ayurveda is a highly scientific approach which considers the following:
Health imbalances

It involves the use of five primary senses with an aim to interrelate with the surrounding. The most common treatments include:

Color therapy
Sound therapy
Touch therapy

Records show that the Asian Massage therapy done in Sydney have their roots in Egypt and China. Archaeologists have found paintings in tombs which clearly depict pictures of people being kneaded by other individuals. During the 2500 BC, reflexology received recognition as a potential approach towards healing. Reflex zones present in feet and palms were tapped in order to release energy that would bring about various types of beneficial effects. These areas are majorly connected with different parts of the body and hence should be conducted aptly in order to see that ill-effects do not come up.
