• The most important method to get rid of these types of stains by using dull knife. These types of gravies cause an oily stain that can usually be removed easily. In that case you have to use a dull knife or spoon or the edge of a credit card to lift off any solid bits from the surface of the fabric. You have kept in mind that doesn’t rub the stain with a cloth because that will push the stain deeper into the fabric making it much harder to remove. After that you have to apply few drops of methylated spirits to the stain and blot with white paper towels or a clean, white cloth until no more of the stain appears to be transferring to the towels. After that you have to allow the solvent to evaporate completely. Follow the directions below for specific fabrics.

• You have also used one-fourth teaspoon of clear dishwashing liquid and few drops ammonia and ½ cup warm water. After that wet a clean cloth/towel with the mixture and sponge the stain. In next step you have to press the cloth against the stain. You have to keep in mind that you have not rubbed it and in that case you should not use ammonia on wool or silk items.

• You have also used cornstarch to remove these stains. In that case you have to sprinkle the stain with cornstarch, baking soda or talcum powder to absorb the oil. After that you have to use a soft bristle brush to work it slightly into the carpet and allow the powder to sit on the stain. After that you have to use a vacuum to remove the powder.
