• Get a degree in the field of graphic designing- Earlier graphic designers would get hired only on their creative portfolio, but nowadays employers search for good educational qualification in the field of graphic designing. An associate degree by doing graphic designing courses is sufficient, but in some countries, a Department of Labor reports are much likely to land prospective designers their dream job.

• Do a few internships- Not every college program in the field of graphic designing require internships, but students who have had work experience in this field had a better opportunity in creating a successful career. An Internship helps to create a suitable presentation in your portfolio, helps to form professional relationships and contacts in the community and also aids in gaining practical experience.

• Creating an excellent portfolio- While a good resume is important for people in the corporate sector to land jobs, for graphic designers, creating an impressive portfolio helps to make a good image in the interviewer's mind. The best way a potential employer can understand the ability of the applicant is through a detailed portfolio which demonstrates growth as a graphic designer and his/her range of work.
