Tips For Finding The Perfect Mattress
Total Articles: 16
So - what is the best way to find the right bed for you? There are several considerations to take into account, and some general rules that apply to different types of mattresses, body types and sleeping habits.
These rules may not apply to everyone, but it can take a lot of the guesswork out of bed shopping and save some time if you do some research to familiarise yourself with the type of bed that should - theoretically - be right for you.
When conducting research, it pays to consider -
1. The body type(s) of person or people who will be sleeping on it.
2. Specific requirements (do you suffer back or neck pain?)
3. Sleep preferences
4. Style of mattress (hard, soft or somewhere in between?)
5. Type of mattress construction
6. Price and budget
Different types of mattresses and beds are typically suited to different needs and preferences. Firm mattresses may be best suited for people who like sleep on their front, as they help to keep your back aligned.
People that sleep primarily on their back tend to prefer a firm mattress, while a mattress somewhere in the middle of the hard/soft spectrum may best suit people who generally sleep on their backs.
The shape, size and weight of your body also plays a role in determining which mattress is the most comfortable to sleep on.
There are other variables and preferences to consider - if you suffer from a back pain, for instance, or other injuries which affect your comfort in bed.
What is most important, when considering the ‘right’ mattress for your needs, is not that you follow the recommended guidelines for how you sleep, or your body shape - what matters is comfort. When it comes to selecting a mattress, comfort indicates good support for your spine and posture.
We spend quite a lot of time in our beds - approximately one third of every day, which means we spend approximately one third of our whole life in bed. This makes choosing the right mattress a very important decision - something that should be chosen carefully, and by testing a range of beds to find the one that feels best.
Many bed retailers’ products are sold in huge showrooms with a large amount of beds displayed in them. Shopping for a bed or mattress in these large showrooms can be more complicated than it needs to be, with a range of different choices but little to set each one apart.
Kerfird offers a different shopping experience, with smaller showrooms and fewer beds - all of which meet their high standards of quality. Their consultants can help you test the different options and find the perfect bed, with their personalized service and expert knowledge.
