When it is talk about yellow jackets then they are a type of social wasp, but you wouldn’t know it by the way the little buggers act. These are type of insects which can be quite aggressive, especially if you’re around their nest. But at that time you don’t afraid to sting multiple times to run off a perceived predator. When there is swarm attack then it can occur when a nest opening is accidentally stepped on or hit with equipment. These ground vibrations from lawnmowers have also been known to trigger an attack, especially in late summer. These insects spend their summer with increasing the size of their nests for their growing populations. But when summer progresses into fall then these insects start looking for more sources of food for their increasing colonies, and they turn to man-made sources; including what they can find in trash cans. These bright yellow jacket pests are striped wasps which are smooth and trim as compared with honeybees, and they are most likely to be found hunting among plants than visiting flowers. These yellow jackets become a loathsome presence outdoors, whether they are trying to steal your sandwich or swarming over apple cores in your compost. Yellow jackets are carnivorous in nature so that they can accidentally act an effective pest control method by eating insects and also damage your home garden. These yellow jackets eat much more than bugs, as you know if you’ve ever hosted a picnic in your backyard.

Now the question is that what are the obvious signs of Yellow Jackets in colony? The most obvious sign of presence is that when there are insects around your doors, garbage and front porch. They will be particularly showed in sugary foods and beverages around like sodas, fruit, juices etc. These yellow jackets are also attracted to the honey and will do what they can to get in the hive to feed. They are flying insects which are similar to honey bees, but they are very noticeably segmented with a very small ‘waist.’ These are the types of species which are found in yellow and black period and some can also have white or red markings.

How to get rid of these yellow jackets:-
