You don't want to pay too much for your internet bill.
Most of the big companies charge you very high prices for similar internet services that smaller third party ISPs can provide. Why you should pay over a hundred dollars for the same speed and services while you can pay up to $40 less monthly when you go with an independent internet service provider.
Ever since the CRTC (Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission) has allowed third party providers on the market there is stagnant growth of competition in the market. This is brings the market prices for internet slowly down. You notice the prices are a bit more reasonable now than they were almost 8 years ago.
3. Customized plans and more choice
For every type of user there are different internet plans available. If you are a heavy user and need lots of bandwidth you have the option. If you only check your email and browse the net sometimes you also have the option to go for these plans. There is so much more choice for now internet services.
4. Data caps
A lot of the bigger companies often have plans with limited usage for their customers. If you want to have unlimited internet you will have to pay a hefty sum more. Most of these 3rd party providers often have only unlimited plans because they know that's what the customer wants. Downloading, surfing, browsing, streaming, gaming without having to worry about a data limit.
5. BYOD(bring your own device)
Most of the bigger companies won't let you use your own modems or own devices while these smaller companies let you use your own modems. You won't be forced to rent or buy the company's hardware if your own is compatible. This can save you a lot of money as well and you won't have to deal with returns whenever you decide to cancel the services.
