With the advancement of technology in the health sector, there are new and better ways in the cosmetic surgery department that people who want to improve their looks are raving about. Liposuction, or lypo, is a cosmetic surgery that removes or sucks fat from the body by removing excess fat deposits and improving your body contours and proportion.

There are different types and procedures of liposuction, but the most popular and new is the Tumescent Liposuction, Ultra-sound Assisted (UAL), and Laser Assisted Lipolysis (LAL). With all the methods and procedures, many are still asking if liposuction is worth it. We listed down the top things to consider before getting lypo or not.

1. The Cost
Having surgery to remove the excess fat in your body is not a cheap operation! For safe and quality procedures, consult a recommended surgeon or research on places to go to ensure your safety and
wellness.

2. The Risk
Most lypo procedures are safe and accidents rarely occur, it’s in the anesthesia that produces after-effects. Know how much your body can handle and be sure to check if you’re not allergic to any of the products to be used!

3. The Bruising
Although there are new procedures that produce less bruising, some methods still get bruising and swelling in the operated area. The initial swelling and goes away after 4 weeks but some last for several weeks.

4. The Maintenance
Even if you have liposuction done, you need to maintain the fat lost. One should start eating healthy and getting regular exercise. If there is no maintenance then all the calories you’ve consumed will build up and return as stored fat.
