The car you are driving for the last 10 years is rolling pretty descent. There is no hiccup while driving and the car still shows fuel efficiency. However, you have been longing to buy a new car and sell off the present car. To sell off a car in Australia one needs a roadworthy certificate. A mobile roadworthy certificate centre available in Sunshine Coast would help you out in getting one.

The roadworthy certificate describes the roadworthiness of your vehicle. The roadworthy certificate defines the ability of the car, bus, truck or another vehicle for safe driving and transport of cargo and people in street. The roadworthiness of a vehicle is determined by tests performed by an authorised person. The certificate is needed in case of selling off of a vehicle, re-registering of a used vehicle, or clear out defects in a vehicle. Some vehicles like new cars and vehicles not intended to be used as public transport are exempted from the roadworthy certificate.

The licensed vehicle tester inspects the car and its parts to determine its safety and quality. The inspection includes:

Wheels and tyres for any sign of dents and cracks
Seats and seatbelts
Steering, braking, hand brake accelerator and clutch system
Lights, indicators, and reflectors
All the mirrors including wind shield, looking glass and windows
Any presence of corrosion over the body and engine
Electrical systems working fine
Cap of fuel tank

The roadworthy certificate stays valid till 30 days from the date of application. The cost of the certificate depends on the age, type and condition of the vehicle. If the car fails to meet the requirements an extension period of 7 days is allowed to repair or replace the fault. After repairing the fault, the tester again inspects the repair and issues the certificate. If the time period lapses then full inspection is required.

However, the roadworthiness certificate doesn’t mean the vehicle is in superb condition. It doesn’t guarantee for the air conditioner, electric window or rear wipers. The functioning of certain parts may stop permanently after the inspection, irrespective of having a roadworthy certificate. Any mobile roadworthy certificate centre like one in Sunshine Coast, Australia can help you to obtain a certificate.
